Boundless

I have been working on something exciting for weeks, something I've been planning for and thinking about for a long time. I wrote my first post on this blog on May 13th, 2009-- over 3 years ago! Since then I've documented our life consistently in over 170 posts. But it's time to move on from The Fridge Files.
I need a new look, a different feel, a clean slate to change my blog up a little bit. So I'd like you all to join me over at my new blog- Boundless. Nothing will change too much though, so don't worry. And you can still come back over to The Fridge Files anytime to read old posts!

So head over there and join me. Follow, subscribe via email, bookmark- whatever. And get ready for some awesome stuff!:)

Friday Five

Dear Friday,
Oh how I love you. You may very well be my favorite day of the week. Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday trail close behind.

Dear School,
I have no words. We kind of have a love/hate relationship. Mostly love, but a tad smidgen of hate is in there too. You are fantastic for 6 months or so, but now it's April, and I have ready to be done with you. So please go away. (oh, but not too far. I will want you back soon.)

Dear Summer,
You and I have a similar relationship to that of school and I. You are amazing until about July. I have a feeling I'll be finished with you pretty quick. Please hurry anyway. I think I can hold on a couple more weeks until you arrive.

Dear sweet friends,
(yes, I do indeed have actual, physical friends. And a picture to prove it!)
{Moriah, Rebekah, Me, Hannah, Mallory, Caroline}
You made this year super awesome. I love you all so so so much. I will miss not seeing you as often. I will miss laughing so hard that I can't breathe. I'll miss standing in a little circle during break. Oh and I'll miss the daily hug line too. We should rob some banks this summer ;)

Dear blog,
I have not abandoned you. I promise to keep up with you better during the summer break! You can expect to see me a lot more.

Catch up

I'm gonna throw a whole bunch of random stuff in this post to catch me up on my blogging:)

Last Saturday, my sisters sold cupcakes, muffins, cookies, popsicles, and water at a tag sale in our neighborhood. The one-hundred dollars they earned went to Hope for Haiti's Children! So proud of them!!

Who wouldn't buy a muffin from a face like this?

***
Oh and once upon a time...
I took more pictures of that cute little face. But I never posted them. So here you go.

***
And wayyy back in early April, I (And Mallory too:)) met our favorite band, but I didn't post these pictures either!!

So here's how it went down:
We went to the Anthem Lights concert (this was like early April) and had a connection to a member of another band. He got us "backstage" to see two of the Anthem Lights guys.
They were in the middle of this when we showed up:) The venue was a place where they hold rodeos, so they had to do their pull-ups on the rodeo bars! It was pretty funny.

We were all sweating a ton because it was so hot.

Then later we met one more member of the band.
{By the way- I look way shorter than Mal in this picture. I am most definitely not really that short. Just so you know!}
It was so much fun and I can't believe I hadn't posted about it yet!

So yeah, that's pretty much all that's happened recently. School gets out in less than a month, and I am excited for summer!

In other family news. . .

This past week (before the family reunion) we planted our sister garden for my 15 before 15 list!
The garden consists of lettuce, tomatoes, and a lot of flowers!! (at least it will, after it grows:))

***
Also,  last week Maddie and Mei Lynn swam for the first time this year! Ben got in for a minute, but it was too cold for him. :) So excited that summer is coming!!!

We're enjoying our spring break! It was so nice to be able to sleep in until 10 this morning!:)
So far so good on posting everyday- only 5 more posts to go!

Family Reunion

This weekend we went to the Fridge Family Reunion!
It was at a retreat center in Salado, TX, and we had a blast! It rained most of the time, so we were stuck inside and didn't get to enjoy the beautiful hiking trails, but it was still fun.
We missed the other Fridges that weren't able to make it (ehem...MO and TN people- quit being so busy!)

We played so many board and card games because of the rain!

We had a little sing-along:)

The whole crew!

Our crazy family!!

This week I am attempting to blog every day- which is one of my 15 before 15 tasks.
So your email will be blowing up from all the post notifications you'll be getting:)
We also completed another 15 before 15 task a few days ago....more on that tomorrow!

So here's the deal...

I just finished reading Kisses from Katie.
It was amazing; I totally want to move to Uganda now:)
But since I really can't do that yet, I've got another plan.

You know that 15 before 15 list that I really need to do?

I need a little bit more incentive to do it.
So here's the deal....
On January 14th, 2013, I will be 15- which means I've got only 10 months to finish the list.
For every item I do not complete, I will give $50 to Katie's ministry, Amazima.
These donations will be used to benefit Ugandan children through "child sponsorship, feeding programs, community outreach, medical care, vocational initiative, and spiritual discipleship."
If I end up finishing the list, I will reward myself by buying a necklace crafted by the women of the Karimojong tribe through Amazima's vocational program.
{necklaces here}

So either way I get to do something to help Amazima!
I would highly recommend reading Katie's book- it was incredible. The Amazima website is also very interesting, so spend some time on there too!

Now on to my 15 before 15 list:)

I did it again

I changed the blog look. Again.
So sorry.
It's the last time . . .

at least for a while.

Monday, September 19, 2011

I'll settle this once and for all...

Pay attention people.
I've gotten a lot of questions from people that don't follow any other blogs- aka, my grandparents- about how to comment on my blog posts.
It's pretty simple... at the bottom of each post it will say 'Posted by MFridge at ...' then it says 1 thoughts, or 2 thoughts, or however many comments have been written. Click on it. Then another window will pop up with previous comments from others. Below that is a text box where you can leave your comment. Make sure to write your name at the end so I know who you are! Then you can go ahead and scroll down to the bottom where it will give you the option of your identity. If you have a google account you can sign in and post through your account, but it's easier just to click 'Anonymous.'
Now push 'Publish Comment,' and you're done!!
You now have no excuse for not commenting on my blog.

Go and write me a nice comment!

Fall...ish

Yes, I've changed the blog background again. It's supposed to look fall-ish. . .'cuz apparently it's fall.
Not so sure about that though. . .
I'm going to send a letter to the people that decide when the seasons start and end, and ask them to let us Texans change it up a little:
Summer: April- October
Fall: November
Winter: December-February
Spring: March

Looks about right to me.

Sunday, September 4, 2011

You've probably noticed that I've changed my background. If you haven't, well, I'll expect a nice apology in the comments. I've also added a cute little picture banner at the top.

Do you know how long it took me to make that thing?
3 days.
Of course, I didn't work non-stop. But I worked very very hard on it, thank you very much. I worked hard for the, what, 9 people that read my blog.

You're welcome.

My I-am-too-lazy-to-post-about-anything-anyone-will-care-about-reading Post

I don't like...
  • long car rides
  • sleeping without socks
  • playing sports
  • reading The Iliad (thanks Homer)
  • the smell of fish (it's probably how my room smells, but I always have to plug my nose at the grocery store!)
  • losing my phone
  • spiders (ick!)
  • fighting with Ben (I usually end up laughing)
  • lakes, rivers, oceans, etc.
  • sand in my shoes
  • being woken up before nine in the summer
  • shopping

I love...
  • making lists
  • reading my fish magazine
  • wearing socks...all the time
  • doodling on my science notes
  • going to the library
  • violin lessons with Maddie
  • making Mei Mei laugh so hard that she hiccups
  • smelling banana bread when I wake up in the morning
  • seeing my fish fry when I come in the room (remind me to post pics later...)
  • playing my ipod in my room
  • watching Maddie and Mei Lynn's Amy Grant "shows"
  • doing Mei Mei's hair in a "Jasmine ponytail"
  • sitting in Ben's room for no reason
  • calling Mei Mei "Sweet", "Baby", or "Dooga",and having her pretend to be mad at me
  • BLOGGING!

1st Post on 3rd Blog

Ok... for some reason, my other blog was deleted, so now I have my new blog! [the third one this year!] So keep checking it!
