14.5

Today is my half birthday. I am officially 14 and a 1/2 years old!
I now have exactly 6 months to complete my 15 before 15 list.

Let's take inventory real fast: as of today, I have completed 5 items, started 5 items, and have 5 tasks left to begin. I feel like I'm a tad bit behind where I should be, but I hope to knock out quite a few in the next month or so. Hoping I can finish all of them!:)

I love the light in these! Mei Mei was being a ham the whole time, so don't mind the silly faces and messy hair:)

I'm going to attempt to post every day for a week, like I did in March, so I apologize ahead of time for blowing up your email and dashboard:)

In other family news. . .

This past week (before the family reunion) we planted our sister garden for my 15 before 15 list!
The garden consists of lettuce, tomatoes, and a lot of flowers!! (at least it will, after it grows:))

Also,  last week Maddie and Mei Lynn swam for the first time this year! Ben got in for a minute, but it was too cold for him. :) So excited that summer is coming!!!

We're enjoying our spring break! It was so nice to be able to sleep in until 10 this morning!:)
So far so good on posting everyday- only 5 more posts to go!

Family Reunion

This weekend we went to the Fridge Family Reunion!
It was at a retreat center in Salado, TX, and we had a blast! It rained most of the time, so we were stuck inside and didn't get to enjoy the beautiful hiking trails, but it was still fun.
We missed the other Fridges that weren't able to make it (ehem...MO and TN people- quit being so busy!)

We played so many board and card games because of the rain!

We had a little sing-along:)

The whole crew!

Our crazy family!!

This week I am attempting to blog every day- which is one of my 15 before 15 tasks.
So your email will be blowing up from all the post notifications you'll be getting:)
We also completed another 15 before 15 task a few days ago....more on that tomorrow!

So here's the deal...

I just finished reading Kisses from Katie.
It was amazing; I totally want to move to Uganda now:)
But since I really can't do that yet, I've got another plan.

You know that 15 before 15 list that I really need to do?

I need a little bit more incentive to do it.
So here's the deal....
On January 14th, 2013, I will be 15- which means I've got only 10 months to finish the list.
For every item I do not complete, I will give $50 to Katie's ministry, Amazima.
These donations will be used to benefit Ugandan children through "child sponsorship, feeding programs, community outreach, medical care, vocational initiative, and spiritual discipleship."
If I end up finishing the list, I will reward myself by buying a necklace crafted by the women of the Karimojong tribe through Amazima's vocational program.
{necklaces here}

So either way I get to do something to help Amazima!
I would highly recommend reading Katie's book- it was incredible. The Amazima website is also very interesting, so spend some time on there too!

Now on to my 15 before 15 list:)
