WASHINGTON DAY 1:
I've already posted the pictures, but here's what we did: First, we went to the American History Museum- one of the 17 Smithsonians. Next, we got a tour of the White House!!! We only got to go into a few rooms, including the Red Room, The Blue Room, The Green Room (very creative right?) after our tour, we went to The Washington Monument. We went in a huge elevator and rode all the way up to the top! Later, we went to the Museum of Natural History- another Smithsonian. There was a lot of stuff about evolution- so we skipped right through it. For our last stop, we went to the National Archives- where we saw the Declaration of Independence, The Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. We got really tired, and walked about 5 miles over the whole day, but it was fun!
WASHINGTON DAY 2:
Today, Nana got us tickets for a Trolley tour that went everywhere in the city! It saved us A TON of walking! The drivers were very friendly, and they took us to all the major spots! First, we went to the Air and Space Museum. For lunch, we went to Union Station- Headquarters of all D.C. transportation. Next, we went to the Postal Museum. Later, we went to the house where Abraham Lincoln died, and the Jefferson Memorial. It was one of our best days!
Mom is once again making me go to bed- so I'll post more tomorrow (If I can! ;-))

I was so glad to see this update!
The Air and Space museum is quite fun. We especially liked the Wright brother's plane. Tim was a bit disappointed that the canvas was not original, but at least the frame was. Guess you saw the Spirit of St. Louis.
I can't believe that you went to the Postal Musem. To this day M & M still tease me for taking them there. It was good, wasn't it? Ben Franklin.......duh......reason enough to go.
The Peterson House is so neat. It is amazing to say that you stood in the actual room where Abraham Lincoln died. (I guess they told you that the original bed is in a museum in Chicago.) Was Ford's Theater still closed for remodeling?
I really liked the Jefferson Memorial, too. Did you take the time to read the inscriptions on the walls? Cool stuff.
Thanks for the update. I'll keep checking for more!

Love the updates! Keep them coming! We did the same thing with the Natural History . Did you take your picture with the big bear?

Megan - I just got your postcard! You are in big trouble when you are close enough for me to get my hands on you! Surely you could have found one left over from the past eight years to send me!
Really - that was quite a funny idea. :)
I hope your mom is icing her ankle and resting tonight.

She is. She's been funny to watch- she's limping a lot!
